COVID Assistance

We are not accepting applications at this time. Please check back on December 5, 2020 for an update. Please note the offices will be closed for the holidays and will not be returning phone calls during this time. REMEMBER, please check your email (AND SPAM) for updates if you have already applied for assistance.

The Berean Christian Church Gwinnett COVID Assistance Program is available to Gwinnett County residents ONLY. Funds may be used to cover past due rent, utilities, and move-in deposits as a result of impending eviction. We also have a food program for those in need of food every 2 weeks.

Before starting your application, please prepare the following documents for upload:

  • Proof of US Citizenship or Legal Residency – Must have ONE (1) of the following:
    • Valid Driver’s License or State Issued ID
      • Must be valid – not expired
      • Must be over 18
      • Must match address on application
    • Proof of Residency (Utility Bill, Lease, Rent Statement)
      • Must be dated within 30 days
      • Must match address on application
  • Proof of COVID-19 Impact – Must have ONE (1) of the following:
    • Reduced Hours/Layoff/Furlough/Termination Letter
    • Unemployment Benefits Letter
    • Past Due Rent Notice
    • Notice to vacate
    • Utility Disconnection Notice
  • Proof of the Need (Rent, Utilities or both)Not required when requesting groceries
    • Rent Verification of Amount Requested
      • Past Due Rent Notice – This can be in the form of email/letter from landlord or verifiable documentation matching the amount requested
      • Must be dated less than 30 days
    • Utilities Verification of Amount Requested
      • Past Due Bill or Disconnection Notice
      • Must be dated less than 30 days
    • Hotel invoice if experiencing homelessness due to eviction
      • Must see eviction notice
    • Moving expenses due to eviction
      • Must see eviction notice

At the end of the application you will be required to upload all documentation to prove your identity, your income, the loss of income caused by the pandemic. Your application will not be considered until all required fields and documents are submitted.

If you are in need to an application to assist with scanning and uploading documents, download the Adobe Scan app on your mobile device to assist with scanning all documents.  You may also take pictures of documents but all images must be clear and legible.
