About Berean Christian Church
The name Berean comes from the word Berea. Berea was a city in Macedonia where the Apostle Paul established a church on his second missionary journey. The Berean Church in Acts was known for their daily delight, desire and dedication to discover what God said in His Word.
The vision to have a church today, like the one in Berea of Macedonia was placed in Pastor Kerwin B . Lee’s spirit in 1995. Pastor Lee was then led to start and cultivate a local church of born again believers whose final rule of authority would be the Word of God.
An organizational meeting was held Sunday, November 26, 1995 at Oakhurst Elementary School in Decatur, Georgia. Berean’s first worship service was held Sunday, December 3, 1995 at Carl G. Renfroe Middle School also in Decatur.
